if your horn fuse blows or is not there for whatever the reason you brake lights will all be unoperational. I dont know why Mazda did this but it is simply rediculous. Just a warning to all i thaught it may be useful

AND, if your horn fuse blows, and your brake lights/3rd brake light become un-operational, and you drive an automatic car... Your car will not be able to shift into gear.

this happened to me yesterday, I couldnt get the car out of Park until I found and replaced the fuse that was the culprit.

a safety measure maybe?

I mean its a good safety measure, since you shouldnt drive with no horn/brake lights, but they should throw a code or something, because it gives you no indication of what went wrong.

i think the transmission is connected to that same wire/fuse to determine weither or not the brake is on, so I dont think its a safety measure, I just think its the way they connected everything.

if it was a safety measure then they would have to let people know about it because i drove around for 3 days wondering why the hell my compustar wasnt shutting the cazr down when i stepped on the brakes. Which of course meant that for the same amount of time i didnot have any brake lights what so ever

the horn fuse going makes you lose your brake lights!?!??

this is extremely dangerous

you could go a long time without knowing your horn is not working

not if you have an automatic car... the manuals seem to be ok, but autos will lock the transmission.

At least there is a safety measure in the autos (even though connecting the break lights to the horn is stupid). Thanks for the heads up!

It would be great if it mentioned something about this in the manual, for the average 3 owner, if this happened to them they would be screwed, have to get mazda service to come and bail them out.

who knows how much thatd cost.
