I know that many of you are gonna post "do a search"...i've done one already for this particular model and only 7 threads returned.

I'm keeping my stock HU and adding a 4 chn amp (powering 4 door speakers no subs). I want to make sure that i keep ALL the functions of the HU such as fade/balance.

I went ahead and just placed the order (NE-77V), but now wondering if i've made the right purchase. Dunno if i should've bought the 4 channel or 2 (two) of the 2 channel.

both models are from http://www.davidnavone.com/adaptor_products.htm

the one i purchased

FOUR-CHANNEL OEM STEREO ADAPTER
NE-774V

or

2 (two) of these

TWO CHANNEL HIGH QUALITY LINE DRIVE ADAPTER
NE-7V

since i'm on the topic...i'm shopping for a 4 channel RCA cable as well....or again alternatively get 2 (two) 2 channel RCA cable, is one better than the other?

...LOC will be mounted near HU and RCA run from LOC to amp in trunk...how long are most of you running? the options are 3m or 5m (approx 10 feet/15 feet). I've been told that i should run the power cable straight down the middle and the RCA on each side of the car to reduce interference....so i should account for more length right? Or are there alternate routing paths? If keeping them apart is the key, wouldn't running the power wire down one side of the car and all the RCA cables down the other side the best way?

found a great deal for the 2 channel ones. these are the old model ones....dunno if there is a big difference with the 07 ones.

I have the NE-774V. As far as I've read and looked at the photos on his website, the difference between the 2 channel and 4 channel is nothing. Looks to be quite simply 2x 2channel LOC's in one simple package.

I still retain cross/fade with the stock headunit. I ran my power/signal wires down the drivers side and my audio down the passenger. The LOC unit will fit behind the headunit in this 3inch gap. Looks like it won't fit, but you can get it between the firewall(?) and this plastic brace. Once in there, you'll have all the room in the world for your wires and headunit will fit no prob.

(my trick is slide it all the way to the left, angle it and i'll go with alittle muscle. you'll see once your back behind the head unit)

Like I said at the Oakville meet last week, it doesn't really matter where the power wire and RCA's go as long as they are not together (creating static) running parallel. I am going to actually do a similar setup when i have the time/money. 4 channel LOC and Amp running the 2 door speakers (havent decided front or back yet) and 2 small subs in the back/trunk. As far as length I am not too sure, but I think 3 metres is more than enough. The wires really arent going that far (could measure it out to make sure)

thanx guys, i appreciate the help.....i'm getting excited....my amp/speakers are sitting in my room

i ordered the LOC yesterday
just ordered a set of Monster RCA cables
just bought a Monster Amp Kit at FS
just ordered some Dynamat.

pretty much just have to wait till the other stuff arrives and i'm good to go....

juan advised to just keep the stock speaker wiring....but i'm thinking since the installers will have my doors torn apart anyway....it shouldn't be hard or too much more work. debating if i should order some speaker wire also....

Hey what amp and speakers did you end up buying after returning those ones in your trunk from last Oakville meet?

I would think most installers would advise you for the speaker wire, but i dont think it will be necessary. I am sure they will have some whereever you plan to do the install anyways. Dynamat too huh. this sounds like some serious power :)

I am always skeptical with Dynamat. It is a great product that's for sure, but ive seen MANY trunk applications where it was needed and then it just reverberates somewhere else (usually door sills) so have to see what happens with yours. Cant wait to hear it :)
