Ok I have a Sirus Satellite in my 3 and presntly have it in the console. I like that its out of site but I hate when I have to change the channel on it.

For those that have this type of radio how have you installed it so it looks cool. I like to keep it out of site if I can or at least in a place that looks good.

Love to see what others have done.

Thanks

ahhh I forget its on the smaller size. I was thinking of maybe putting it in where my ashtray is since I don't smoke. But not sure, yet. Id love the one that intigrates and works with the car but I am not spending the money on that.

^^ is that the factory satellite unit? the one that plugs into the back of the head unit?

i use the plug'n'play unit with the FM direct adapter in the ash tray area...the antenna and the adapter were run up behind the head unit; the antenna sits atop the dash, just behind the defrost vents. the power isn't hardwired; i just ran the cable as neatly as i could. i'll post some pics up later today if i remember to take some.

well after closer inspection my radio will not fit in the ashtray the way I want. I will slide in there on its back but then I still have to pull it out and push it back in when I am done.

Back to the drawing board I guess. I may see if I can make up a bracket to mount it on so it can site just above the dimmer wheel on the left side by your knee. I don't want to screw anything into my dash either.

make sure you pull out the ash tray insert, as that silly thing takes up a fair bit of space...and if you don't smoke, it's only purpose is to give you a cool red light on the console when your lights are on...

my plug'n'play unit comes with a remote (which naturally doesn't work)...have you thought about using that?

Yes I did pull out the ashtray, it still won't sit upright. And I don't have a remote. Maybe I should just get a smaller unit!
