I noticed this about 3 months after getting my 07 Mazda 3 GT (Manual) that in the morning when I start my car with my Air Nob turned to the feet position and the Temperature Nob at the coldest setting & Air Circulation is from the outside and at 1 that the Radiator Fan turns on automatically and the A/C compressor also comes on.
Is this supposed to be happened? Because its very loud when it turns on and I'm just curious as to why the radiator fan & A/C both turn on when the car engine is cold (left over night outside) and being turned on for the first time in the morning
Any ideas? Should I take it in? Could it be a electical/computer glitch problem?

If you have the mode selector pointed to the 'Feet Only Position' (12 o'clock position) or to any mode the right of that, the air conditioning system will come on automatically-(Its normal).Try leaving it on any mode position to the left of 12 o'clock and the air-cond system therefore will not activate.

That and if its on the coldest setting the AC automatically comes on. If you put it one click up I dont believe it does.

Check the owner's manual. I'm sure it says something about this in there.

Yes, it's all in the owner's manual.

The a/c runs all teh time, until the ambient temp (outside temp) gets lower than 2or 3 degree's C. The reason for this is
1. It keeps the freon moving and keeps it from pooling in one area of the system
2. Believe it or NOT a/c will help to defrost a windshild if its frosted up and the temp is near 2-3 degree's. A/C is DRY air (no moister in it)
3. This is all NORMAL...don;t worry....

Um what?? The a/c runs all the time until the outside temperature is lower than 2 or 3 degrees? So during all the Spring, Summer, and Fall months, our a/c's are on ALL the time? :loco That makes no sense, my friend.

My Xterra runs the AC automatically if:
1. You turn to any defrost position, and
2. The outside temp is above 7 deg C.
I think the 3 is the same, but includes the foot position. The manual says something about the AC not running when it is cold out.

Are you referring to climate control system? Not all Mazda3's have them.

Well actually its all kinda hard to explain. The a/c turns on in some positions (climate control or not) wether the a/c button is on or not.
Even if the a/c is not 'ON' it may cycle from time to time to keep the freon moving...and yes it makes sense.

What's so hard to explain? Geez no offense people, but please do us all a favour and read your Owner's manual...the answers to alot of questions asked on this board are there!!...Sorry but it just dumbfounds me how people can buy a "New" vehicle and don't bother reading the Manual 'properly', to atleast understand features and how they work.:bang

Just about everyone already knows this. It's in the owner's manual and Flagrum answered it in the second freaking post! Your previous post however makes NO sense.
