had a little fiberglass project that went down a couple weeks ago. the idea was to keep it clean and simple. fabricated a FG enclosure in the spare tire housing an elemental designs SQ 10 sub. won't be able to do it without this sub due it's mounting depth of 3 inches. total depth of the enclosure is about 5 inches with a hump in the middle bottom which has about 1.5 inches to clear the sub. didn't get to measure total volume.
here are some pics.....no progress pics...hands were too busy to take pics.

the enclosure is already finished at this point and already in the car. it sounds pretty damn good for a 10 inch sub getting about 400WRMS. i am coming from an eD 13kv2 running off the same amp and the SQ10 sounds cleaner (the 13kv2 wasn't really in a spec box) still need to do the fake floor as the enclosure raised it by about 2 inches. whatever that's left to do is cosmetic. will take pics of the sub in the car when I get a chance.

awsome man but i used infinity fx45 subs and enclosure all i had to do was create a custom trunk peice which i made out of wood i will take some pics tommorro and post them up for you My amp is also in the spare tire compartment. But do you get to keep your spare tire or do you lose that? I dont have mine any more but i have runflat tires on my car

the enclosure itself is in the spare tire so yes I get to keep the spare. i just had to flip the spare over.

K that looks really cool. However won't the carpet or padding of the trunk floor muffle any sounds that you might have? How difficult is it to remove if you wanted to say....actually use your spare?

the carpet on top has no effects at all. i've had one of the rear floor mats on top of it with no negative effect. as long as it's not something hard that the sub can hit i dont see why it would be an issue. the enclosure pulls out very easily.
