Well... im hooking up a sub/amp in my 07 sedan. the issue i am having right now is where to run the power cable from my battery. there seems to be really no where for me to go thru underneath... and well, when i ran it down the side of drivers door and under the trim, my dad flipped and said i couldnt do that.

does anyone have pictures or maybe some advice to help me out?

Do you have an auto or a manual trans? This will determine my suggestion for where you run your power wire through the firewall. If it is an auto, drill a small hole in the clutch cap and run it through there. It's on the drivers side. If it is a manual, there is a nice grommet on the passenger side behind the glovebox.

Run the power wire and remote wire down one side of the car (which side will depend on where it goes through the firewall) and RCAs down the other. It is easy to pop off the step plates and trim to run the wires down to the back of the car.

Definitely run the power wire through the plastic clutch cover then. That's what I did. It was extremely easy. Just drill through from the inside out. It's above the brake pedal. You should be able to see a little cut in the padding for it.

okay, doing a bit more research for the power wire. i think i have that under control.

now comes the real question.... ive been researching ALOT on how to connect the LOC. what exactly am i supposed to do with the wires? i understand that i need to locate the rear 2 speakers connection (using the wire diagram and colour chart) but what do i do with the wires which i am running from the LOC?

It all depends on how you want to connect it. I personally barely use the rear speakers at all. I almost always have it turned to the front. So, I connected mine to my front speakers. Then I added a volume control for the sub. Some people connect it to the rears and use the fade control on the stock deck like a sub control.

The wires on the lock get connected to the front/rear speaker wires. The LOC then provides and RCA output, which allows you to run a set of RCA cables back to your amp.

You guys are able to hook up a sub/amp to the original unit? I was told that it would not work.

you can absolutely hook up a sub/amp to the original deck, just buy an Line Out Converter.

i'm interested too! any schematics to see where all the wires are and what connections to be made that include the install of the LOC?

a LOC basically takes the +/- of each speaker line... and turn it into a RCA jack where you push in the RCA to your amplifier.

What you do is take out the deck, u will notice a white adapter that goes to the back of the deck, cut THE SPEAKER CONNECTORS at a resonable length on each side. The side of the deck will go to the LOC. The side that leads into the dash will be reconnected to the speaker wires from the amplifier. SLICE THE POWER CABLES

In the final product do your rear speakers and subs become the rear fade together ( or front + subs depending on how u connect your LOC)
i just need some clarification

Everything works as it normally does. Fade, etc is still fully adjustable. The audio signal for the amp comes from the front speakers (run through the LOC). I have a seperate sub control unit (RCA volume control) which is plugged inline just after the LOC but before the amp. All it does is allow me to control the volume of the audio output from the LOC to the amp through a control knob.

That control knob on your amp I think is more or less just a bass booster for the amp. My method allows me to turn the volume down to 0 so only the car speakers are outputting audio. The amp still operates but there isn't any audio going to it when the knob is turned down all of the way.
