I have Avic-D3 and just upgrade front door stock speaker to Sony XS-V680HP. It handles bass very well (25hz-30khz).

When using ipod, the sound quality improves a lot. It's louder and has more bass than stock. However, when playing FM radio, I need to increase volumn to get to the level I got before. Any idea?

If I change EQ to S. Bass or Powerful, It's louder and yes yield a lot more bass. But when EQ changed to flat, then FM radio is no longer as good as it's used to be.

I've noticed that certain radio stations have different levels of base. At first I thought it was my deck but when I checked the same stations on my wifes car system it had the same effect. It has to be the FM channel.

I already know FM is not that good!

The question is FM is louder with stock speaker + AVIC-D3 than stock speaker + stock HU, but it is not as loud as Sony speaker + AVIC-D3.
