Does anyone know where I could buy one of those patch plugs for my 'Speed3's stock stereo unit so I have a pre-amp out?
you need to see Jeff @ lockdown he has them in stock i think its a GM plug that he uses

Noob question, but what is lockdown? And...a GM plug? I was thinking a Ford plug maybe, but didn't imagine a GM plug would work.

No, I wanted to add dual 10's in the back with an amp of their own. I'm also a bit concerned about the strength of this car's alternator. My old probe GT's put out 70 amps and was fine without a cap on my 1000watt amp/subs, wondering what the MS3's alternator was rated at if you also know that. You seem to know a lot about these cars.
Haha, and next year I will be with my speed3 at the fall tour instead of with my friend... nice car, BTW.

All you need is a line output converter, any car audio shop will carry them. If you are in Mississauga we have them.

Don't you have to cut into the stock wiring to hook up a line out converter? I don't want to touch the stock wiring due to warranty issues. It doesn't make sense to me to buy an extended warranty then void the warranty on the stereo by chopping at the wiring.

You don't have to chop anything you just have to splice the lines, it does not affect your warranty.
