make sure you get stage II too.

Don't get stage II.......that will just fry your harness and other crap. wattage too high. Polarg makes the best best yellowest fogs. See if you can find them.

Meh...I never had a problem with my Stage IIs on harness.

But I have heard people get problems..

probably best option is to go 3000k HID, with lam-ix

I'm running Nokya bulbs and they are the most yellow I've seen that are still fairly bright. They get wicked hot though.

Honestly, go with lamin-x and low K HIDs.

Another option I might look into are Yellow LEDs if there are any out there.

I had them for my high beam DRL and all though very yellow did not last very long and almost melted my harness....

so with that in mind...

I know there are LED Yellow fogs (RJ3 owns a set) or better yet try looking for bulbs made by Narva, and the series is Narva Gold ..

www.suvlights.com is the last place i heard that carries them

ummm.... has anyone else had this problem, my nokya got so hot that the bulbs changed shape, the tip of them swelled up like a balloon, haven't had a chance to take any pics, but when i swap them out, i'll take some pics to show you guys.

You are not to touch the glass part of the bulb when installing them. Also if they are the Nokya Stage II's there's been issues with them.

I had stage 1 and dem SOB burnt out + the harness

so IMO Nokya Stage 1 or 2 or whatever, is not that great at all

I just switched my DRLs to my fogs and I'm running the Nokya's...man these stories better be few and far between. Not the biggest fan :S

i've compared my luminics to nokyas and the luminics are more yellow

How hot do they get? And how long are they lasting?

The key is this finding a damn aftermarket bulb

that does NOT pull crazy wattage....

if only they had a yellow bulb that pulls 55W instead of some monster wattage around 65W to 80W

I mean how hard is it to keep the wattage of the bulb at a comfy 55W...GRRR

I may try the Eurolite

I've been using Nokya yellows they're pretty good, my driver side finally burnt out yesterday after 15 months of use. I use them for DRL too.

This is good news!!!! The Nokya's are 80W and are 2500k.

80W YIKES!!!

Well there are times where you get lucky and times you dont...in this case talk about lucky...

For sure that must be running hella hot....its just a matter of time before something melts....

Eurolite aint as bad as you think, hey a reputable sponsor is carry them and so why not try them, its a year warrenty and from what the info it pulls the identical 55W stock wattage...

I wanna see the LED Fog in action...RJ3 has them but has not posted pics yet

3GFX

RJ3 has gotta post some pics.

The issue is not that they run so hot but that the bulb is soooooo much larger than other bulbs. The Eurolites are about the same size as stock where as the Nokya's are posively massive, in comparison.

I wanna make the switch to LED. Pull something like an Audi R8 ;)

great, i just checked the ones i bought off a M3F member....

http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=94693.0

and they are H11 stage I 80W, i guess i should've done my research before hand...now i don't think i'm gonna put them in.

My fogs are my DRLs and they will be on day/night...i don't care if the bulbs burnt out in a few months its only $20 or so....but i don't want my harness or anything else affected.

The Polarg's are definitely the yellowest and the quality is also very decent. We've had mostly bad experiences with Luminics and Noykas. They have short life. Some have even shattered due to blistering (from overheating) on the bulbs.

The Polargs aren't cheap though... about $80 over here in Vancouver.

With Nokya's they say draw is only 55W but output looks 80W. They should be fine.

flylice13

better yet...3000k hid's pull 35W and output anywhere between 90w - 120w. This way, it won't fry your harness.

RJ3 has gotta post some pics.

Oh snap!!! Got hooked into my console gaming... I totally forgot to post my amber led fogs...

I will post them soon..... But no comparison between halogen.

In the day is barely noticeable, but it makes the lens look orange.
In night driving, it is bright up close but as you go further away the led is just a dot...

For me its perfect for DRLs but not for night driving

Nokya Hyper Yellow would be my choice of bulb...... From the time I had them installed.. (mid summer--- Until the time i replaced them with the LEDs... I haven't had any problems...)

It is true if you touch them with oil or grease, or it is exposed to moisture, the bulbs will certainly lessen its life time.

So If I ever did replace my led fogs with my nokyas, I doubt the life expectancy of those bulbs will last another month.

Here is a pic I found on my phone for comparison....

Its too bad i didn't take a pic of it during night... Will post soon

note left fog is NOKYA, right fog is LED amber fog light from Myk

Wow that's a horrible output! But to be expected. Did you take the lens cap from within the fog light out? I'm debating taking it out and getting the full on multi LED bulbs. It'd be cool to go with some LED DRLs like the audi R8.

-RJ3-
11-26-2007, 09:20 AM
Dave, There is no lens cap within the fog... Unless you can show me a pic of it, curerently I free obstruction from light going out.

Patrick asked me the same thing, Im wondering if its a GT thing issue, because the GS fogs I have doesn't seem to have them.

True the output is horrible, but I rather save my nokya's using these ones...

But I agree... Damn I want those R8 fogs LOL!!!

3GFX
11-26-2007, 09:27 AM
The GTs have a small cap in the foglight, just like the kind you find in some headlights. In some cases this cap has to be removed to fit some larger bulbs such as the multi LED kind.

What kind of LED are you using, the multi LED or single? Post pic of bulb?
STOP PLAYIING VIDEO GAMES :p

do you have to buy a HID kit to put in these super yellow lights?

How much do the really really yellow bulbs cost? Which Companies would be good?
