first impression of deck
after reading a gazillion posts on how good the alpine 9887 is on many different forums, i decided to give it a try. got the deck off ebay for 350 with ipod adaptor compared to 399.99 + tax @ 2001audiovideo. this is my first deck and im still noobish @ sq but the deck is not as good as i thought it would be. i've heard pioneer decks with much better sq (my opionion only). there's so much sound tunning features and i have absolutely no idea how to use them. like the 7 band parametic eq, different frequency, slope settings and much more complicated features. after a little tunning and playing around with the sound features, the deck sounded so much better then i first listened to it. im still figuring out how to use the different features and hopefull it'll sound even better after more tunning. as of now, i wish i got a more simple pioneer deck. hope after learning the features, it'll change my perspective.
