Okay I feel odd doing this but gotta ask...

seeing how Mazda OEM hubcaps would obvisouly fit Mazda OEM steelies

now would Mazda OEM hubcaps fit aftermarket steelies?

cause I cant seem to get mine to secure...:loco

Oh yeah I feel like a knob!!!

Not necessarily. I believe different steelies have different lip profiles so not all caps would fit.

Not positive on that though. I've got pretty limited experience with swapping hub caps around. :)

I have to agree with Wild Weasel on this. I tried getting the Mazda OEM hubs on mine and they wouldn't fit securely. I even went to Canadian Tire and tried some of their brands and none would fit as well. My wife's car on other hand has steelies that the Canadian Tire hubs fit perfectly on.

Even OEM steelies have different makes from year to year. My dad tried to fit his OEM Windstar hub caps onto his winter steelies which are OEM steelies but apparently from a different generation of Windstars...no dice either. So don't kick yourself man, its common. :)

No offense, but isn't that kind of weird to put hub caps on steelies?

Many cars that you buy nowadays that don't have alum alloy rims are just hubcaps on steel rims. If you look closely you will see them all over the place. It's very common place. The Mazda3 GX is listed as having "15” styled steel wheels with full wheel covers." (hub caps on steel rims).

Ah...

I think when people refer to hub caps nowadays they actually mean full wheel covers. Apart from the "dog dish" hub caps the police use I don't even notice the real hub caps.

I've seen plastic wheel covers made to mimic "spinners."

I think black steelies with chrome wheel ring looks okay....
Someone do it and take a pic!

canadian tire has these, lol

on another note, there are universal hubcaps that you can buy, but like everybody else has said, not ALL of them are gonna fit on ALL steelies. some steelies have different size lips on them. My opinion is that if you've got steelies, there's no need to put hubcaps on, they're easy to steal and can get very expensive to keep replacing.

I was having a smoke outside starbucks at the mall and a 70 year old lady rolled up in a late 90's dodge stratus with the canadian tire hub cap spinners lol... I wish I had a camera phone at the time. Too funny.
