Hi,
Does anybody know if there is a screen mesh/filter near the throat of the fuel filler tube? What happened was a while ago, when I was pouring in fuel injector cleaner, I noticed that the cardboard that you find underneath caps, had fallen out onto the fuel throat flap. It was cold out, and when I was reaching in to grab it, I pushed in further by accident. It seemed fine for a while, but last night was really bad. After about 1 second, of squeezing the pump handle, it triggered saying it's full. The tank was half empty, so there was no way it was triggering properly. Any suggestions?

Well firstly, I wouldn't have ignored it in the first place. Foreign objects in the gas tank aren't usually a good idea. :)

You can try getting a little grabber tool and see if you can fish it out if it's still in the tube.

I agree, but I assumed that the fuel pump has a filter around it, so it wouldn't get sucked into the feed line to the engine.

Unless there's a mesh screen, I do not see how the piece could still be in the tube. The flow of gas would of pushed it through.

There might be a screen in there. I'm not really sure.

And there is a fuel filter, but I'm not sure what the fuel intake looks like and whether such a thing could get in the way of it.

"Stuff other than gas in the gas tank" just generally gets filed under "not good". :)
