I wasn't going to change my head unit but now after looking at some I think I want to.

I love the double Din units. I was looking at a Panasonic Unitl today at Futureshop and I love what it can all do.

For those that have them installed were you able to get your steering wheel controls to work with it?

Another nice thing i found was I can get the panasonic Sirius sat to go with it and its really cheap. That way I can work the sat via my head unit. thats nice.

I have a double DIN unit. A pioneer Avic-Z1(Z2 is current gen). You can keep your steering wheel controls by getting a PAC SWI unit(http://www.pac-audio.com/). The sirius satellite option is available with most head units, so is XM.
I would encourage you to look beyond what you see at FS.

I guess what I meant was, look beyond the brands and models FS carries. They don't carry the higher end Pioneer, Clarion, or Eclipse units.

The PAC unit prices vary, as there are different wiring set ups for different deck manufacturers. I currently have the PAC-SWIX , which I am not very happy with. It is an IR device, and has had challenged. I just picked up a used PAC-SWI PS, which is hard wired, which has received positive reviews. They range from $40-$100.

im in the same boat as everyone else.
after my coil overs are installed, and i have a xbox 360 in my room, i think i'll work on the car's stereo.
i already have the speakers, and the subs, now i just need a HU.

and i'll br starting to work full time in about a month or so. so hopefuly i'll finally be able to buy one by mid march.

and back on topic. i agree with Ami. look for a store that specializes in stereo equipment. you might get a better deal, and they do far better work.
my friend works at Keith's stereo, and when he was doing some wiring for me, he was amazed at the crap job FS did at installed my subs. he said that they did everything he was told not to do.

If I could afford it right now I would Pearly. I have to wait till spring. Im in no rush as my car is in storage anyway. 1st thing I needs is wheels and tires as I don't have any on my car right now!!!!

Ok just my opinion. I agree with getting work done at future shop. I wouldn't. But was for quality of Stereo equipment. Its not that bad and they do have room to move you know. Yes if you want to spend TONs of money you can go to a specilty stero store and spend big bucks but why?. And allot of the time if you look the stero units FS/BB sells sell for more money at the other stores. Stereo specially stores do sell good stuff, FOR SURE but unless you have allot of money to spend they are out of your range. And my opion is what I know and see from London stores only.
