Does anyone know the correct torque for winter steelies on the Mazda3? The size of the tires are 205/55/16. Thanks :bang

Lug nut torque will be the same as your stock wheels. 80-90ft/lbs.

Actually the torque for the lugs are 65.06-86.73 ft-lbs. 90 ft-lbs is a tad high.

Stick to 80ft/lbs all year, easy to remember, and don't forget to retorque after a couple of days.

Can you tell the difference between 86.73ft/lbs and 90ft/lbs? Most torque wrenches aren't even accurate to that degree of error.

Well to Skarbro's defense here, you don't want to go to 90ft/lbs if the max says 86...Most torque wrenchs will have a tolerance of possibly 5% either way.So you could be doing damage going to 90 if the wrench is out and your actually torquing to 95 or even higher.Safe bet is 75 to 80ft/lbs max, this leaves some room for wrench tolerance error.
