First off, I want to apologize ahead of time as I know this was discussed previously as I have contributed to the thread before. But for the life of me, I can not find the damn thread. :bang

I’m pretty sure it was in the Wheel/ Tire Technical issue section, as well as in the Classified Section as someone was selling it before.

I would like to confirm the fitment of ’01 16” OEM Rav4 alloys. Our storage room was broken into at our condo, and the 17" OEM Mazda3 alloys were taken (which we were going to use for the winter). Now I’m thinking of just using the Rav4 alloys (along with 205/55/16 tires) off of my wife's car:chuckle.

Can someone please confirm this? (I know…. Again:complain. But I swear I’ve done the research on here and can’t find the threads)

Thanks.

**UPDATE**
Hub sizes have been confirmed (via Wheel and Tire Guide- 2007)
2004-2007 Mazda3 bore 67.1
1996-2007 Rav4 bore 60.1

I have RAV4 steelies that look like the ones gizmo put up for sale although I'm not certain what year my RAV4 steelies are from (gizmo says his was '01). On mine the hub bore size did not match (RAV4 was smaller) so I had to take it to a C&C shop to bore it out. I can't tell for sure but from looking at gizmo's pictures he may have done the same thing cuz the hub should have a lip and I don't see it in his picture. I suppose you can measure the hub of your RAV4 steelies before you attempt it. I can't recall the size of the GT hub though...I'm sure you'll find it if you search.

Edit: I found the measurements. My RAV4 had a 65mm hub bore size while you need 67mm for '05 Mazda3 GT.

Xerox>> Thanks for your input. Damn it, so the Rav4 alloys will not fit after all..... DOH!?!?!?! Yeah, the alloys on my wife's Rav4 is exactly like the ones that are in your pic. I wonder if "GIZMO" did have to machine the bore...????

So how much did you have to pay to get the bore machined?

Hey, you never know. Maybe the rim look the same but the bore is different. I'm just warning you before you start taking wheels off. It's probably best to measure it before you start anything.

I paid $100 to get the bore widened on a C&C (CNC?) machine. It was hard enough for me to find a place that was willing to do it.

My original thread from almost 2 years ago at M3F if you want to read more.

If you are looking to replace your 17's, I have a set in winter storage I was going to list closer to the spring.

Those are silver steelies, not alloys.

Grab a ruler and measure the center diameter. If measures at least 67.1mm across, it'll fit.

I ended up grabbing a set of IS300 rims that were machined out. The bore measures at 70.1mm. I know that I will need hubcentric rings to fit have them fit properly. But the bolt pattern is the same (5x114).

Aren't they still the same as Rav4 steelies?
I've noticed the IS300 and many other Toyota's use them.

Yeah they are, but like I mentioned... the bore has been machined out to 70.1mm, so there is enough clearence. The Mazda is somehwere around 65mm...... so with hubcentric rings they'll fit fine. If the bore was not machined out, the stock setting would not have cleared... would have been a couple of mm to small to fit on flush.

Just an FYI for the future, Mazda has about the largest bore size for a 5 X 114.5 bolt pattern. So chances are you cannot use other OEM wheels. Toyota/Honda are out of the question for sure.

I disagree, I am running Rav 4 winter rims, as are some other members. So some Toyota rims will fit.

They were bored out. Or you have a generic. Post a pic of the hub.
