Well, as the title says, I am in the middle of my first road trip with my new 08 Mazdaspeed3. I travelled about 1300kms from my apartment in Scarborough to where my fiancee and her family live in Baie-Comeau, Quebec. I am very impressed with how great the milage is in the 'speed3 when taking it easy on the gas. I had the cruise control set at 110kmh the whole way, and even with 2hrs of delays on the 401 (mostly had the car turned off), I managed to average 7.8L\100km. Just a couple days ago Eloise and I drove out to Sept-iles, about 3hrs each way, just as a small day trip. The seats in the 'speed3 are really comfortable, and plenty of room in the trunk. I didn't have to use the rear seats for anything and I have my huge winter work boots, hard hat, 4 coats, and 3 pretty big bags. I was surprised so much fit in the back. While I was here there was about a foot of snowfall, and so far I never got stuck yet. These Toyo's I got from the dealership do really well in deep snow. Another thing that surprised me. Anyway, I'll post some pictures of the fun road between Sept-iles and Baie-Comeau. The pictures are pretty similar, but that road was just so much fun to drive. Also a few videos of having fun in the snow.

Wow, what a nice place to race on lol. But u gotta watch the deers. I watched a lot of clips of deers jumping out and cars getting dented by them lol

Well, I'm more afraid of snow and ice right now. In the summers I'm used to driving on the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and have seen my fair share of moose on the road around blind mountain corners, so deer doesn't really scare me too much. I've seen moose kill big rigs. Scary thought.

My first road trip in my speed3 was to Montreal. Nice drive, but those crappy, pothole-laced Montreal streets were a little hard to bear with the stiff ride in the speed. :)

Are you riding on the Goodyear RSA's on the stock 3's 17" alloys?

Nice pics...looks a bit like the highway to Thunder Bay. I just drove my 3 from Barrie to Winnipeg packed FULL of my summer rims, all my clothes, computer and other stuff and I was surprised that it still had more than enough power to get through the hills and mountains. I'm sure your MazdaSpeed was even more fun!

No, I have the normal mazda 3's rims on 215/50R17 Toyo winter tires, and of course my stock 18's with the stock tires for summer.
