Noise on start [Archive]

Hello, I currently own a 07 Mazda 3 GS Sedan. When I start the car (providing its cold old and has not been run for a day or so) I get a really loud squeal / grind noise. I believe its coming from the transmission as it only makes this noise in park, reverse or drive (not in neutral). Any comments, thoughts, etc.. ? Thanks,

is it only upon the starting or as it idles..

Best thing to do is bring the car into your local Mazda dealer.

Starting and and running for about 1 - 2 mins.
