I had my CEL come on tonight. The past couple of days I have noticed that when I come to a stop, the rpm's with fluctuate, sounds like it is going to stall.

Does anyone know if Mazda will charge my to diagnos the problem? It is still under warranty.

Thanks in advance people!

Yea they run the cpu.

Before you go and pay 90$...check your intake and Mass Airflow sensor on it.

You might have a 'vacuum' problem in the system. Check the intake, then check the MAS, then check the Gas cap (make sure its tight), then listen for any sucking noises throughout the engine bay.

If all else fails take it to the dealer they'll figure out the error code and go from there.

even though it is under warranty, I still have to pay them to check the cpu which takes 15 seconds?

If the diagnosis shows that it is a defect, therefore covered by warranty, you don't pay.

If the diagnosis shows it is not a defect, then you pay for the diagnosis.

Yeah I would suggest checking those things plus try refilling your tank and add some red-line gas treatment...it could just be a batch of bad gas.If the problem persists than take it in to the dealer.

If your car is under warranty still (3 year/80,000km) and the light is on.....you are not charged for the diag.

I am at Agincourt Mazda right now and they just informed me that the CEL is from the fuel evap system thingy, which will be replaced under warranty.

Thanks to those who have respoded.

cel code readers are a good investment, for the long run, they're not that expensive, and they sell pretty cheap on places like ebay
