With all this talk about people sandblasting their wheels just before powder coating or painting, got me thinking.
I recently had to have a wheel refinished and it was totally stripped via sandblasting. The front of the wheel is fully finished however the rear of wheel and the lip are still corse and rough. The lip where the tire bead is mounted is also still rough from sandblasting.
My question to you all is how will this stand up to the elements? You know how wheel weights react to salt alone and corode onto painted aluminum.
I'm thinking bare unprotected aluminum will start to buble and eventually lead to slow leaks around the bead of the tire. What do you think?
