This will be my first time in HK&China. I'll be on a business trip in China and I have a 3-4day stop-over in HK. Anyone have any suggestions of what to do and see there?
Any recommended store for camera lens?
Patrick.

for technology stuff i would suggest going to "mong gok".... i don't remember the english name if there is one : S But its a stop off the MTR. They have a whole street full of stores that sell gadgets. There is also a street at the same place that sells a large variety of sneakers :chuckle

Yes and you can stop by the ladies market too. Its called ladies market but its not really just for ladies. Its a bunch of stores setup outside on the streets that sell cheap good and you can haggle the price. The sneaker stores are pretty much owned by the same owners :D.
You might also want to checkout the horse race track @ Causeway Bay. You can also checkout Macau (take the ferry there) via Sheung Wan on MTR. Also checkout the top of the peak to overlook the whole city.

I pretty much checked out all the camera stores in HK last year. Probably the most notable and reputable is Wing Shing / Man Shing in Mong Kok (three stores: 91 Fa Yuen Street, 106 Tung Choi Street, 55 Sai Yeung Choi St). I dunno about haggling - they wouldn't budge on the price. Don't get too lost trying to find these stores...
I got my tripod from somewhere else though on the Kowloon side.. don't quite remember the name. It had a pretty good selection of film cameras / antiques.
We get soooo ripped off in North America.

Depending on the kind of shopping you want, you can also check out Nathan road around Tsim Sha Tsui, Festival Walk, Ocean Terminal/Harbour City, etc. OT/HC has some more classy places. OT has a Gran Turismo 5 Prologue demo area setup (at least it was there last week when i was there) if you want to try that out.
Otherwise, try and get over to HK island and take the Peak Tram. The view is pretty sweet from up there, even with all the polution..
Where are you staying?
Edit: most stores in the malls above won't haggle too much on price; if you want a better deal on things, you'll have to check out some of the seedier places (i don't know their names though..my cousins just take me to those places)...Watch your wallet when you go to malls like that though.
Times Square is must for me everytime i go too.

Ya definitely the peak tram and the ladies market.
There was also a nice fancy restaurant(kinda expensive) with a view of the harbour/island in Kowloon.......can't remember the name.....I think they are renowned for their steak
unfortunately 4 days is way too short to enjoy all of HK.
visit duck piss street at Sham Shui Po district/MTR station. I don't know the names, i just float over. There are a few reputable shops and a ton that aren't. That street has great second hand goods. Probably stolen. Careful when street fights break out.
Camera lenses are cheap, bodies aren't. Be careful when buying and check for moisture/mold as humidity in HK is ridiculous and ruin camera gear.
Do try to visit macau. That's a definite.

Chris Ruth's Steakhouse?
You don't go to HK for steak.
Go for the chicken and taste what avian flu is.

May is good weather.
July and August are brutal. I showered 2-3 times a day.
Food is awesome, I gained 15 pounds in a very short period of time.
