Deletion of Useless posts/spam

Seems to be an increase in the amount of useless posts/spam on the forum and was wondering if instead of closing the post, can the mods just delete it?

1) Click members name in the left, in this case yearoftherat
2) Click "Add yearoftherat to Your Ignore List"

Enjoy one less spam post LOL JK... I agree with your comments

Several spammers in the past ex. "Patricia" have had their accounts and posts deleted.

There are two such users from the last few days that were not addressed in the same way. Why the change?
