My check engine light came on for no reason today while I was driving home. It's never been on before even with all the mods.
SHould I try unhooking the battery?

The light comes on for a reason. You should try reading the codes. You'll need an OBD-II code reader (you can buy 'em at Canadian Tire etc.) or take your car to a mechanic.
That said, if you have a CAI check the that the MAF sensor hasn't pulled out.

First thing to check would be the gas cap. Happen to me once before.

I've had the same thing happen to me befoer too. Try removing then replacing the gas cap and see if it comes on again. If not, that was your problem.

+1 as silly as it sounds it happened to me too. I was shocked when it was just that. It could be something more than this too.

Finally got it fixed since I was in NY the past few days. It wasn't the gas cap, but the un-hooking battery trick worked so hopefully the light won't come back.
Edit: Light came back so I finally took it to Motor workshop to get it looked at, got a "Engine running too lean at idle" and the culprit was the intake.
It was pretty much off the throttle body, not noticeable though if you don't rev and look at it at the same time. Glad I got it re-tightened or else I'd be screwed.

Its good that you went to vincent to get it checked. Very good service and nice guy there too. Great shop, and will never hesitate to go there.
