So i was driving to MOT and then back home and then to commerce gate...approx 4 hours driving total due to the snow. so while i was in traffic jams i noticed some kinda oil ish smell coming from the heaters so i immediately turned of the heaters and opened moon roof+windows to rid the smell...but then whenever i turn on the heaters i can smell it...i pop'd the hood to check engine oil...itz kinda low but should be enough.

any idea what this is about? the car is only 4 mths old factory fresh.
-will bring to AGINCOURT to check today.

cheers,
sunny.

Did you run over something? Oil change recently? I would bring it in ASAP.

wow you do a lot of driving cars is only 4 months old and 11250, am I reading your post correctly? maybe a smell from outside getting sucked in by the heater? like driving in an area where there is a garbage dump...

It's possible that they spilled some oil on your engine block or exhaust manifold. When it gets hot enough, you'll smell it. If this is the case, then it should go away by itself.

I had this problem a few days ago. Smelled almost like burning oil when I had the heaters on. Like unfresh heated air.

I turned the temp knob to the coldest setting and left it for a bit. After that it was ok when I turned the heat back up.

problem resolved:
cause: exhaust manifold slight leak detected....retighten nut on exhaust manifold & spray air freshener on outside vent.
