Tire Size Question

I am looking for new summer tires for my 18" wheels.

I was going to go with 225 / 40 / 18 (that is as close to stock I think as it comes).

Question, I can get a decent deal on some tires but they are 235 / 40 / 18.

will that work? I mean that is only 10 mil wider but will they fit ?

you wont get any benifit on 235's (hp wise, whats the weight of ur 18"?). beside that you may rub.

not sure on weight. I was wondering about the rubbing. I think I will pass on these.

if your car isnt lowed, the offset between 45-48 wont rub. but 18"+235 ruber will be a lot heaveier than stock, that hurts.
