Can someone explain to me why when you press unlock twice on your key thing to unlock all the doors, the lights flash like 4 times or more. I would think if you press on the button twice, the lights should just flash once or twice.. but it clearly flashes for longer than you would expect. Is this normal?

Your subject line is misleading. You're talking about the remote, correct?
It should not flash the lights at all after the first unlock press (which flashes the lights twice).
This is sometimes a thing that can be adjusted through the dealer's diagnostic computer (at least I know you can do this with GM cars). You might be able to change it at a dealer.

If you hit unlock twice the lights will flash 4 times.
...because you asked it to do the same thing twice, hence the double signals!
You unlock you get two blinks, so if you unlock twice you get four.

Well you press unlock once to unlock the drivers door and twice to unlock all doors. But it's a bit annoying quickly pressing unlock twice to immediately unlock all the doors and the car flashes 4 times for the next 5 seconds. It may be how its SUPPOSE to work, but it doesn't LOOK right.

Mine doesn't do this...
I push unlock once, the lights flash twice, drivers side door unlocks...
I push unlock a second time within 5 seconds, all other doors are unlocked, but no additional flashing lights...

I have a 2006 and the lights only flash on the first unlock. Pressing unlock the second time to open the other doors doesn't flash the lights again.

I'm going to look more carefully what it does next time... regardless it doesn't look...right.
