Rough idle too, really annoying

So anyways, i search this and found that some people had the same problems. I have an 06 GT 26k on it. I took it into dealer and they told me they upgraded the cpu program or something. It stopped for 1 day and now its happening again. Its not like super rough, but its bothering me.

My dads sienna has no vibration WHATSOEVER. I swear sometimes i dont even know the car is on. is it only mazdas?

And another thing, i went to MOT and i took the shuttle (mazda 5). HOLY MOLY, that thing was shaky and the driver told me that nothing is wrong with it. So im wondering... are all mazdas like this? cuz its really annoying...

There are a lot of threads about this. My 05 GT idles rough, or I would say, tends to shake more at around 700 - 750 rpm. Mazda also flashed what I believe was my ecu with a patch or something.

I believe it is normal. Perhaps because it's a 2.3L? My Protege 5 didn't shake as much.

yea, its just annoying..... but im kinda used to it. My old intrepid...... holy..... it shakes like crazy. I changed both the spark plugs and the cables. Even changed the distributor cap thing but it still shakes like crazy. Kinda fun to sit in though lol.

I wouldn't go as far as saying its normal for our Mazda 3's, only because I don't seem to have a rough idle problem and never have.I'm nearing 70k on the odometer and it runs smooth as silk (for a 4 banger)...There could be several things that could cause excessive rough idling though, anything from faulty sensors to dirty plugs or throttle body to a bad motor mount...So I would suggest not assuming its normal and take it back to the dealer for maybe; a more enthusiastic diagnosis.

I would vote for a bad Motor mount...

my friends rx8 had this issue...boy was is shakey..

I have an 08 M3 GT Sport Hatch and bought it last October. The same rough idling was happening so the dealership flashed the CPU as well and it's still doing it. In fact since then sometimes it sounds like a go cart or a diesel.

No idea what to do as I took it back twice now.

I would suggest taking to the dealer for more diagnosis, Im at 80km doesnt shake a bit and runs smooth, sometimes i think my engine is not running. Although there is a little tiny shake when fan starts working, but I believe thats normal
