To have these on my car this spring...

http://www.5zigenusa.com/english/products/wheel/proracer/ZR+520.html

I'd definately go for gunmetal!

17 inch, 8wide so i can get the deeper looking model. 47 offset should do it, right? too bad i'm looking at about a grand + rubber! :-(

I imagine it'll be spring 2009 before i get them.

What do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Nice rims though, definitly the hot item over the past year.

Mogul, I'm just Positive I'm man enough to get the job done with my right ;-)

I have a GS. Lowly 15 inch rims with MASSIVE sideroll when doing the corners. I feel like theyre going to roll off the rim! I figure the two options are: Slow down around the corners, or Get new, better looking rims. :-)

LOL, Yeah. For some reason, a whole bunch of chuck norris jokes just went running through my head.

"Chuck Norris is not hung like a horse... horses are hung like Chuck Norris"

Ahhhh Chuck Norris.

I think i'm going to install photoshop, so i can have a picture of those rims on my car. :-) just to dream....

Is it me... or do they look almost identical to the Work Emotion CR Kai's?? If you want to see what they look like on a 3 in gunmetal.... I have them in 18x7.5 on my 3 in gunmetal.

VERY similar! Your car looks sweet BTW!

I'm goin for 17 inch deeper style 2.... 47mm offset at 8 inch wide rim. 45 profile tires, 225 width. Rolling radius is .5% larger. I do worry about rubbing though! 5zigen lists them at 240US each... but i'm hoping they'll drop by next spring (or i win the lottery in the next few weeks!)

I know this is OT, but Your a pilot for Air Canada? My brother used to work for one of the affilates for them (not jazz... can't honestly remember the name of the company...Air Georgian?) (mainly beech 1900's and caravans) as a mechanic.

What do you fly?

Crazy small world!

I'm looking at the 18's now.... lol.... but 18 inch and 8.5 wide i don't think would look right on a sedan or m3 at all. The tire is getting to "dragster" looking (assuming it would even fit!) what do you think?

mEtH
03-20-2008, 02:42 PM
18 x 7.5 is the only one that will fit. So you cant get the Deep type 2 in 18. 17" is the only way for the deeper look.

Thats what i figured. I'd still like to be able to drive the boss or family around, so i figured if i wanted to keep a resonably smooth ride i'd have to stick to 17's anyway. ;-)

Thanks for the info though.

Do you think 8 inch wide will still look... awkward on a sedan?

mEtH
03-20-2008, 04:43 PM
nope! I ran 17 x 8 for a little while on 215 and then on 225. Running the 452s was great, really held in the corners!

sudz

sweet. that puts the fears i had to rest! i was worried about rubbing on the 225 width.
what offset did you have?

Those wheels are too heavy, they are going to slow your car down and affect the cars handling and braking. They weight 27lbs, I would go with some lightweight 17 inch wheels.

nice rims! they look like Mugen MF10s

I really like these too...tho my right nut is quite potent, I'd never give my left nut for rims...

Anyway...I just so happen to see a Volvo C70 today and I swaer the stock OEM rims look just like these but silver (bronze powdercoat anyone?...hehe...)...can anyone speak on their sizing?

BTW, these are called " 18" - "Mirzam" Alloy Wheel "

First off, those would look really good. How would I know? I'm running the replica's. Those would be the rims mine are replicated after.

See what I mean, not quite a fan. Great in theory, not so much in person. At least not my tastes.

I think I know what my next set of rims will be...hehe...now, if I can find specs on those Volvo wheels (sizing, bolt pattern, WEIGHT!, etc.)

EDIT: "Wheel size is 18" x 8.0" with offset +45mm in Bright Silver finish "

2nd EDIT: Correct tire size 235/40/18 GREAT!, 45mm offset, I dunno...but weight is 26.5lb...

they aren't as nice as the pix on thier site makes them look...

I'd rather have some CR KAIs... with a super aggressivr offset....

it offers more concavity then the Zrs.

I'm starting to wonder how good the 5zigen's would look on my car. :-S The rim on its own looks amazing... but the more and more i look at that photoshop i did, The more and more i don't like it. I wonder if its just my photoshopping skills, or how i actually feel about the rims.

I originally was going to purchase these wheels as well, but they just look 5 times different when they're mounted. Not to mention they weigh a lot as well, so... that seemed to be a no brainer for me.
