Sorry for the Long rant and sentence run ons,(had to type quick since im at work) but no longer will I go to this store.

As you know last friday I was going to pick up my Bulova Watch.

It was such a good deal... I got both watches for 1000 (mens reg 659.99, womans 559.99)

My gf had received hers the same day I bought it, but the owner told me that my watch will be guaranteed ready for pickup next week.

So I decided to wait it out... They called me saying to come back on Friday, which I waited a couple of more days.

Once Friday came in, I called them beforehand and they said "Yes the watch is here, pick it up anytime".

So I went over. What did they do? They gave me the womans watch, the same watch I got Jamie! Well to make matters worse, they put in the wrong serial number of the watch so they had make me wait to get the correct watch for several more days.

I told them, Is there any way to rush this, I have been very patient, and understanding at this point.

They told me they would have the watch ready for Monday.

Monday comes in, he calls me and says your watch has been ordered and you can pick it up tomorrow. I thanked him, and hung up.

5:15 leaves a message on my phone:

"We had an error with our system and with Bulova saying they had the watch in stock... We cannot get this watch for another month or so, so we would refund your money or however choose a watch in our store."

WTF!!!!!

I called them back, asking, listening to their reasoning... And the manager says its beyond his control...

OK... That is not an excuse... I have been wating patiently, and you have promised me several times the watch will be ready. Don't play me for a fool! He had an excuse of saying Bulova does not release this watch anymore.... I then told them so why the hell is it in People's jewelery????

I made them feel bad by saying, Out of all the jewelery stores in Square One I chose you because I knew you had top quality jewelery, and satisfaction to all your products. Not to mention you know that I have made business with you on several occasions. For such a reputable company, you sure don't act like one when there is a complaint.

He appologizes and says we try to satisfy our customers 100%, That blew me up.... I told him "This was a anniversary present and there is no point in having one watch if it was a his or hers watch." I would like to have a refund on both watches, my gf hasn't even worn the watch because she was waiting for me!

He said he will talk to the head office about it.

Bunch of BS and if I get only my half of the refund its a slap in the face.

Dont ever deal with these people. FINE GOLD JEWELERS in Square One.

Nothing but broken promises!

Sorry to hear RJ, very poor customer service. Which one is Find Gold Jewlers again? Is that the one across from West Coast?

That sucks big time! It is very hard to find a jeweller that doesn't try to milk you every time you walk in there. I've been very lucky with mine and he has been great. He even talked me out of buying a larger diamond for my fiances engagement ring.

Square one Shopping Center at mississauga... Blah!

I also think they realized they were ripping themselves off.... (659.99 + 599.99) 1436.37 tax included vs. 1000.00

Thats why they are making excuses..

BASTARDS!

Regardless.. sorry to hear what happened, its a pain when you spend alot of money and don't get the best service and results you were promiced.

Just like buying a car and expecting good service, even though you buy a 20-30,000$ mazda3 and not some 60k bmw, 30 grand is still a good chunk of money and indeed every right to expect the best service... jewlers are no acception to this.

Oh I was very suprised of how well the mark up of the jewlery was and how they can discount this price for me... But the point is, they made promises and didn't keep them. Made me waste my time heading over to the store, when telling me its ready.

I also gave them the option to buy it at peoples jewlery. A couple of hundred bucks won't hurt the owner of the store.... And he wants to keep his customers satisfied and happy. Since It has been on display for months now, it seems very easy to get, and with speaking to other places it is easy to find just not that price.

He said he will try my best... If it doesn't happen by 3pm, I'm getting my money back.

He promises, but I don't count on it.

What's really bad about this is apart from the bad experience you get it's the lasting memory you have of your anniversary. Congrats by the way.

So you just knew the exact model of watch you wanted? And didn't see the specific watch in person before purchase? Just curious...

What happened, was we saw the watch in people's and other stores prior to this. We saw the price and was shocked, so we decided to go to Fine Gold. They showed me the bulova catalogue for my watch, but her watch was on display.

They had written the model number for my watch and said they will call.

In my post I mentioned my watch came in on Friday, but was the wrong watch (some yahoo at the store didnt mention the right number to Bulova)...

BTW, if you must now how it looks here it is...

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

As an avid watch collector I've never been to Fine Gold Jewellers, and from this I don't think I'll ever go there. Maybe simsimma can share some of his experiences, I know he's a watch collector as well...

La Swiss is a pretty good place for nice watches here in Toronto, a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

RJ, sorry to hear about your experience.

I've bought all my watches (Movado SE, Tissot T-Touch & Ebel Brasilia) from European Jewellers in TD tower. They seem to have the best deals I could find (ex. 35% off my T-Touch) but you have to bargan with them....which I don't mind.

It ruins my anniversary present, but we will figure out how to celebrate with our refund LOL!

Never will I go there again.

Thanks guys... I appreciate it.

A lot of my buddies have switch to him after buying engagement rings somewhere else. He can also get watches.
