Time for some new tires for the hatch. The stock RSA's won't last the full term of my lease so I might as well get some new tires now and enjoy the ride. Stopped by my friendly tire shop on the weekend and he recommended either the BF Goodrich Super Sport A/S or the Michelin Exalto A/S. Price wise the BFG is slightly cheaper, but not by much. Also, Michelin is going to have a $50 rebate program in April so the price difference will be less. I've been a Michelin man for as long as I can remember, but I don't just want to go that route again without looking at something else.

I'm looking for a good wet/dry performing tire that will last at least 60000km's. I rarely push the car to it's handling limits, but I want a tire that will allow the car to perform the way that it should. I'm worried that the BFG is more a performance tire and that mileage will suffer and also ride comfort.

I know the easy answer is to go with what I'm comfortable and familiar with, but sometimes that isn't the best route...

Thanks,
Rich

I would suggest going for the Pilot Exalto's as they are rated #1 for a performance all season tire, they even beat out some summer only performance tires in alot of categories!! Also, they come with I believe a 70k mileage guarantee but will most likely last much longer from my personal experience with Michelin's...Exalto's are my choice when I replace my RSA's this year.

Unfortunately my answer is going to have some bias. I love Michelin. Had them on my Integra and currently have them on my wife's TSX (both summer and winter types). I can't wait until these farking RSA's get worn out so I can replace them.

I'd go Michelin.

Thanks guys....

I had tried the Tirerack site before, but for some reason the reviews weren't working....

I think I'm pretty well settled on the Michelin's and just need mother nature to realize it is spring so I can remove the winters...

all seasons are really 3 seasons, they suck after the first year as a winter tire

Michelin's for the win... 100%

Take it one step further and buy the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S... best all season tire known to man HANDS DOWN.

I just had the Exalto's installed today...

So far so good!! Tires are very quiet and smooth. The car rode very nice after being on the winters. It's hard to compare them to the RSA's since I hadn't had them on the car since November. The drive from the tire shop in Milton to my office in Burlington was as expected. The weather was less then pleasant, lots of rain, and the tires handled very well in those conditions.

Like usual I am happy with the choice of Michelin...

I'll post up if anything negative starts to appear...

BTW the car looks much better with the stock rims instead of winter steelies...

I switched back to my RSAs from my Snowtechs and gotta say the RSAs SUCK, the Snowtechs rode better! ...I can't wait to replace them with the Exalto's....rbart apparently the Michelins have a break in period somewhere around 300-400kms, so suggest you take it easy on them till then. Also if you get a chance do a write-up on them when you get some mileage on, it would be interesting to hear.
