The T1R and the ARC looks the same but its not. The T1R is more to a blue and the ARC is more purple looking

TypeR was my pick,
ARC was close 2nd.
Colour or weighted knobs?

They are all weighted at approx 200-250g except for the paper weight spoon

t1r followed by arc would be my picks. Don't mean to thread jack but is there really a big difference in feeling with a different knob (when shifting) other than aesthetics? I was assuming only a short shifter does that.
Definitely the JDM Type R.

It actually does. The shape of it lets you grasp the shift knob better and letting you have a smoother shift.
I guess you have a thing for round metals? :chuckle
I used to have same style from TWM (was it TMW? :chuckle), but I didn't like it at all. Too hot to touch in the summer, too cold to handle during the winter, and it's not comfortable to hold it during shifts.
I switched to Mazdaspeed carbon fiber knob, even though it's much lighter, it just felt better.
Also, about the weighted knobs, I don't think it makes different especially on MS3, the counter weight weighs so much!
If I had to choose out of those 5 you listed, I would choose Spoon one because it's not round.

Depending on what you like... IF you want to keep the JDM look, the type R... If you have interior thats or accents of blue, I would go with the blue metal finish.
It factors the look of the interior.
Type R is nice, but very common. If you want to be unique go for something that blends with your interior, yet pops out of the rest.
But my final opinion is SPOON

um..... I got a lot of votes for the type R. I was originally aiming at the type r one but its a little bigger then the other round ones. I still like it because of the red numbers
I dunno if you can pull off the spoon, the interior might not coordinate with.
JDM is nice, but my vote T1R, that is a clean looking knob.

Id say out of what you have shown, I go with the type R.
I my self prefer the more stock look. The metal ones just don't seem that comfortable, especially if you are the the type that holds the shifter allot.

Than the Type-R it is... Didnt know you wanted it first.... go for your first instinct!
is there other options? metal knob will be very cold in winter. i perfer carbon fiber more.

I put the Momo Sphere Air Metal shift knob in my MS3 - as pictured below. I think it looks great with the other "aluminum" coloured accents in the car - it DOES get cold, but that's what gloves are for, you kow just try not to LICK it or you're in trouble!

cold might not seem as that much of a problem in a few monrths, when you'll get in the car, touch the shifter and will find a nice burn mark on your right hand :chuckle
happened to me a few times with the stock knob from the little metal circle trim around it...
as far as Kevin's choice, i'd definitely go with the type-r shifter. it's the nicer, classier looking than all the other ones imo. (come to think of it, might be because of the red stitching on the boot, but i find it by far the best looking one)
T1-R followed by the JDM Type-R
But really I would pick only ones that thread on properly, if any of them require those stupid screws then forget it.

All the ones listed are just spin on and off. but the type R knob requires me to have the nut at the botttom so center the numbers correctly meaning the shifter will be higher.
