I have one of the bendy types but am located in East York. If you're willing to drive down this way let me know, I don't intend on using it for another couple of weeks.

I need to put my summers back on too. We should have a tire install meet, where everyone that needs theirs done help out like a pit crew and puts on tire. You need four guys at each ends of the car and two guys with jacks to prop it up.

im in markham and currently have one. problem is my steelies are stuck to my car! not even kidding, me, my friend, and my dad were tryign to kick the wheel off for like 30 minutes and they wouldn't come off. I take a look at my friend's "universal" fit steelies and the center cap area has a gap so his came off easy. Mine however, are like stuck and have no gap. I got them at MoT and installed there.

ps. yes we kicked very hard and even tried with a wooden hammer lol

That happened to me too one year. I really whaled on the wheels and tried so many things, eventually they finally came off but it literally took hours.

Hey Prof, were your steelies OEM also? I noticed that my OEM steelies have NO gap on the center with the center 'hub"? whereas aftermarket steelies have a gap wihich makes it easier to come off especially when it rusts over the winter.

This really sucks, I spent a good half hour kicking it and pulling it. Then i sprayed WD40 and went out for a 20minute drive and came back with no results. I'm gonna bring it to Andy sometime this week lol

90 ft-lbs is a tad high. Recommended is between ~65 and ~85 ft-lbs (from the shop manual).

I had this problem in the past with this car. I've since been using anti-seize compound with some success.

Next time they are on sale, you should invest in one. After putting wheels on and a short drive, you should re-torque them again. I put my summer rims on yesterday, torqued to 80 ft-lbs, and went for a 10 min drive. Came home and re-torqued them to 80, and every lug nut moved.

Yup, they were/are OEM Mazda steelies. I tried the WD40 also but that only helped to loosen one of the wheels, and even then I can't say it was the WD40 and not my muscles ;) lol.

Right - so, anyone wanna form an official meet to mount tires, or volunteer their wrench for a few hours in Mississauga? :D

all you markham guys that needs install i can do it for you. I got a race jack here so even if you're slammed you're still ok. And i got a pretty big torque wrench here a some tools to do a few simple things.

Silicone grease lightly on the hub bore does wonders. Never had a wheel stuck on yet. Just be sure not to get it on the threads of in the bolt holes of the rim with your greasy hands.

Just ensure you don't get antiseize on the lugs.

So where do you apply the anti seize??

So where do you apply the anti seize??

A thin coat wiped onto the surface of the the rotor/hub that mates with the wheel. Also around the edge of the hub that wheel centres on. NOT the surface on the inside of the wheel, as you are bound to bump it against the studs when putting the wheel on, which will transfer some of the anti-seize to the studs.

Help? Anyone? If I could either borrow the wrench (and associated socket if you've got it), or bribe someone with some timmies, i'd like to avoid having to lug the rims/tires around and do it at my place :) I have a few floor jacks and safety stands too!
