how wide are the tires on 08 mazda 3 Gs 16 inch and 17 inch

i read on road and track that the 2004 ones we 17 by 6.5 inch but iam just wondering how wide my tires are, i have the gs package so its 16 inch rims, is there any diffrence between the 16 and the 17 and if yes by how many inches is each tire wide, also is it possible to fit a 17 inch BBS rims by 7.5 inches on the Mazda 3 sport without it coming out the side

what offset?
what hub bore?

those are two crucial questions when it comes to fitment.
