Has anyone even worried if the COBB maps will work on our Canadian cars?? THe dealer mentioned way back that our ECU updates were different than the US spec cars...

Hmmm... I think you've just raised quite a bit of eyebrows of members who got in to AP group buy...

Well we have the same reflash recalls as the US cars so I can't see how it could be an issue.

"We have not had any Canadian Spec ECU's here so I do not know if they are the same. In our experience there has not been a difference on any other cars, but Mazda may be different. They are about he only company to still have a 49 state ECU and California ECU."

thanks for bringing this up, Mark. considering the business Canadian Speed owners bring to Cobb on this product in particular, they should have someone there dedicated to issues like this (unless they do already). i take it you posted on cobbforums? i wonder if WRX owners had the same concern before AP was similarly launched..

Well CND MS3's on avg. dyno 15whp less out of the box then USDM models because of emissions requirements

this will only be an issue if the physical ECU has different hardware, which I doubt...and if I can get a US map...GREAT! and since I can always revert back to my "stock" map, then who cares?

I could be wrong tho...

If this is true (proof?), we stand to gain quite a bit more :) As our cars would have the US spec COBB map.. Correct?

Just checked with Joe at MoT, and he has confirmed that the ECU for the US and Canada are the same part number. The only different part number for North America is for California vehicles.

I've also still got feelers in with others south of the border :)

Thanks for clearing that up.
But it seems like everybody knew it somehow. :chuckle:chuckle
