Hello everyone!! I swear... everytime i do something to this car, it doesn't work out that well... it's driving me crazy. sometimes i think it's better to put everything back to stock:complain(end Rant)

Alrighty... Installed the Alpine CDA-9887 today and hooked up the SWI-JACK for the steering wheel control along with the alpine cable for my ipod. Everything works great!!! Ipod is controlled from the head unit, Steering controls work great, sound is amazing (will be better once i tune it) BUT.... This metra kit is pissing me off :bang

It just doesn't sit right...

See for yourselves

So... are there any other Single DIN kits that fit better than this? you can see the opening on the bottom and the plastic trim piece looks like it's going to pop out :bang

Some links would be great :)

As always, thanks for everyones help :)

I have the japanparts double din kit, used to have the same issues. Is the kit looking flush, then the bottom popping out a bit afterward?

I just updated the pic with a couple of arrows showing what is causing the problem. It seems that the plastic sticks up too much causing the trim to not sit properly. I'm thinking the only thing i can do is grap a chisel or some sand paper and shave it down...

What a pain lol...

Were you able to modify yours to make it fit?

yeah it is a pain. I think I recall you mentioned at one point you live in Richmond Hill? I do as well, maybe we should plan a little get together, and you can have a look at my install, and compare.

Weird. I have the same kit.

It's not a perfect fit, but it looks loads better than that.
