AMB Indicator Just Showed Up?

I've had this problem for a while, and just thought of bringing it to you guys. I have an '04 GS sedan. Last year, I left my car out in extreme weather (I don't remember if it was extreme hot or extreme cold... oops...) When I turned my car on the next time, my LCD display had the AMB indicator illuminated. Now, I know that I'm not supposed to have this on my car, and I'm fine with that, but I was wondering if there was any way to get this to go out, or to show the temperature. I've read up, and there doesnt' seem to be a way to make it work, so can I some how "turn this off"? I'd rather not have it showing than constantly have "--" as if my sensor is broken.

Has anyone else had this problem?
