So my car wont start. The imobilizer wont recognize the keys. Both of them arent recognized. On top of that, i smell something got fried from inside the dash. :bang My friends told me it could be the alarm that i got done. But i dunno, im really stressing and i dont want to take it to the dealer and have them tell me my warrenty is voided.
Joe said it could be the junction box or something. I really hope its not cuz i opened the glove box and i dont smell it. I only smell it from my dash.
Anyone please help? Car is parked at my gfs house and i dont want my warrenty voided.
I have HIDs, indy fog mod, and alarm/starter combo. Those are the only electical things i did.

What warranty do you have? The comprehensive extended warranty covers towing.

i dunno, im under the 3/80k bumper to bumper warrenty.
You also have your CAI intake. I remember when Rallyplaya couldn't start up his car, it was because of the intake wasnt installed properly, therefor it caused his MAF sensor to go off, $500 later. Ben, pm me your email, and I'll come check it out tomorrow.
u should call AH, let them chk it if there are some loose connections, you should get live time labor warranty, right? i got mine installed at Lockdown, they gave me 1 yr parts+labor and live time labor warranty. b/c if you tow ur car to dealer, and they found out that aftermarket alarm cause the problem, you will get charge for just checking (its 100ish).

How did you do your ind fogs? Did you tap into the PJB?

Which alarm is this? Get the shop that did it to check.

Hi Guys
the car is coming up to and we will look at it.
A known problem so so people know is iwth cars with an immobilizer you can not have the key close to the ignition and remote start it at the same time.
It will see 2 keys at the same time and shut down the immobilizer.
It may also do something to the aftermarket immobilizer installed. thats what he may be experiencing
Thanks

I think since its electrical it won't be the intake. Depending on how the indy fogs were installed it may be that, but I doubt much would happen and you'd notice the issue in the lights right away (probably by them going out). Check the fuses and see if anything is blown. Its very possibly the alarm install might have done it. Trace every step, what was the last thing you had done, thats the first place to start sniffing. Get it to a shop, even if only for an opinion and go from there. Let us know!

PROBLEM SOLVED. Jeff was right. He reprogrammed my bypass (i think) because i guess i accidently pressed key 1 + key 3 on the compustar remote to activate valet mode. But all in all, everything was fixed and i am extremely greatful for everyone who tried to help me especially Jeff. I took the car up, he fixed just like that and explained how it happened.
Great guy to deal with and i recommend him to anyone doing alarms/starter and tints
Thanks Jeff

Hi,
We looked at the car and nothing was burned !
Must have been something in the air.
Just happy to say all worked out and that nothing was wrong after all.
Thanks
