Been there a few times already this year. Picked up a sweet cargo box for the roof rack for like $300 less than what they sell it for in Canada.

I love Grove City's Prime Outlets. Went about 3 times last summer and planning on going at least once this summer. It's amazing how far you can stretch $200 USD there :) No taxes on clothes because they're deemed necessities is the greatest gift ever lol.

How do you guys avoid the taxes. Just get rid of the tags and stuff it into a backpack?

Holy Cow, that's a long drive. Hows the deal compare to Vaughn Mills?

What my g/f and I do is stay for a couple days to make the drive worth it. The other main advantage of that is that we both get to declare $400 since we stayed in the US for "48 hours". You're allowed up to $400 tax free if you're in the US for 48 hours and only $75 for up to 24 hours. I usually say "2 days" when they ask me how long I've been in the US on my way back in.

I usually rip off a lot of tags and stuff them in my gym bag. Since I know I'm gonna be buying clothes while I'm there, I leave my gym bag a little more empty than I normally would so that I can stuff it w/ the clothes I buy down there.

yea its def worth stayin the extra night... i only stayed for one night... we claimed some things total of about 600 US and only paid $80 in duty taxes so that was pretty good LOL didnt want to lie and then get my mazda flagged when crossing the border. My older bro lives in NYC and i make the drives down there a few times a year.. dont want them finding my mom's homecooking for him lol

Lat time I went to Carosel Mall they pulled me over at the border asked 100 questions and searched my car from top to bottom. Me and my friend were stuck for atleast an hour. Freaking embarrasing! They checked every single ID, took our cellphones away, searched us and wallets, and made us to fill out forms I thought I was going to get arrested.. pretty scary

OMG, horrible experience. I went Buffalo with my girl, my buddy and his girl and me and my gf alone spent around 800. My buddy probably spent around 350. So we were going back and the smart ass friend decided to pretend that we went to six flags and therefore skip the whole checking process. OMG, they popped open the trunk, told us to drive to that little shelter thing. The guy checked and we kept on denying. In the end they forced us to pull out our receipts because if we didnt, they'd impound my buddy's car. So we took it out and instead of taxing the 14% (at the time), they taxed us 40%.

SO......... we ended up paying like $400 in taxes AND they have my license on the file so they will check me every time i go past boarder.

hahah fun experience :D lol

LOL, the g/f and I stop there on our way back. I tend to find more stuff in Grove City and she seems to find more at Millcreek.

BTW, the Mr. Sub at Millcreek has amazing subs. It's not related to the Mr. Sub here but their subs are some of the best I've had.

Couldn't you just get a new plate? Or is your name flagged as well?

I think they're both gonna be flagged but its mostly the plate.

They'll see that first I think.

My mom's car is "tagged" because we said we had no fruit but had an orange peel left over in a zip lock bag from lunch. We got charged 50 bucks USD, and .. its tagged now.

lol..

no, its not the car thats tagged. Its my license. They got my license number down. But they said in 5 years they will remove it. I'm going to states this summer for some more shopping this year if i dont waste it all on my car haha. And this time i will definitely report it
