Most of us have the SAT button. You still need the receiver like 3GFX noted.

:S that sucks. theres nothing mazda offers to utilize that button without adding a receiver onto my dash.
You could always hide the reciever somehow, or extend the wire and run it to the rear window out of sight.

If it were that easy then what would be the point of paying for SAT radio?

I think the SAT receiver was an option for the Mazda3

Ford may have bundled a Sat Nav in their cars... but then your stuck driving a Ford.

what I'm looking for is something like a GROM or any of the other adpater manufacturers to come out with a piece that will plug into the OEM switching box and allow ANY 3rd party audio source to plug into it and allow the SAT button to access that SOURCE, without any of the SAT receivers functions (ie changing trcks, display name, etc)

You can do something with it if you choose to purchase the mazda sirius receiver for $400. I wanted to go that route at first then I decided to go for an after market receiver. I have been searching the internet to find an adapter that would plug into the back of the HU and utilize the Sat button but no luck. Although I did see one audio link cable that could work but no confirmations yet.
Otherwise, yes it is a nice looking button.

Thanks for your suggestion...now if you can put my OEM switching box and Grom Audio adpater to work with my Aux-in and SAT button together then we're talking...
otherwise...what's a tape deck? :chuckle

There is a option to have a tape deck on the mazda 3. Its behind the stock deck , a faceplate makes it seem like its not.. the tape deck would go into this slot.. but instead you put the auxmod chip.

Hey I was just curious if the button that switches to the auxmod is the Media button on the 08's (is this the same as the Tape/MD button ? in the earlier versions of this HU)
Cheers
