Hey All... new to the forum!
I have an '04 Sport GT, and I'm looking for some new summer tires. I'm looking for something thats decent, but a good value for the $$. I'm not worried about getting A/S because I have a dedicated set of winters.
I think I've pretty much narrowed it down to Sumitomo HTRZ IIs or Falken ZE912s and just want to know what people's opinions are on the two of them. The Sumitomos are a bit cheaper and are actual summers, where the Falkens are A/S... but I've heard great things about the 912s and I can't find too much info on the Sumitomos either way.
What do you think?

Sumitomo tire you listed has some pure tread wear ratings.
Falken ZE 912- 360-AA-A
Sumitomo HTR II - 220-AA-A
Even under the assumption Sumitomo grips better rain and shine, I'd get Falken.
If you really want to save money, go state side (but then gas money).
Falken all the way!
They are a great tire for their price bracket and have the experience to back them. One thing I will always keep in mind when it comes to tires. You get what you pay for and cheaper is not always better.

never knew this, so I googled here.
Either way, in this case I'd still take the 912s for tread wear reasons

I've had the Falkens for around 3 weeks and I find them pretty good. In terms of ride quality, i can't complain as they're quiet. However, what you won't get is performance, they simply aren't that sticky. In terms of thread wear it's too early for me to pass judgment, but the fairly hard compound makes me assume that they'll last a good bit
My previous tires were a set of Generals, and they had better grip and were excellent in the wet, but it came at the sacrifice of a bit of road noise.
All in all, for cheap tires I wouldn't have any probs recommending the Falkens.
