Search has NOT been my friend with this one! A lot of posts, but I cannot find a definitive answer:

The question: Will 17x8 ET45 with 225/45R17 fit? With Prokits? On my sedan?

The size calculator says "yes", given that many posts say the tire can stick out farther to about 23 mm:
http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp?item=Wheel-Tire%20size%20comparer&showRim1=1&showTire1=1&sw1=205&ar1=50&bd1=17&rd1=17&rw1=6.5&et1=53&showRim2=1&showTire2=1&sw2=225&ar2=40&bd2=18&rd2=18&rw2=8.0&et2=45&text1=Stock&text2=Enkei%20RPM2

On the other hand some posts say that an 8" rim is pushing the limits, go with a 7.5". Which I don't get, as the overall width is dependent on the tire section width (as long I don't do something dumb like sticking 205's on the 8" rim). And 225 seems to be okay for section width...

So: Is anyone running this size? Without rubbing? Dropped?

Thanks!

You can run that but you'll have to roll your fenders if you plan on lowering your car.

You'll be fine. I have a hatch with 18x8 et45 wheels on it, no problems. I did a lot of research before buying my wheels and loads of people on Mazda3forums run this size with no issues.

Agreed...

I have 18x7.5 running 225 lowered on Mazda Speed springs and i rubbed a few times even after removing the camber correction kit. I didn't want to buy new tires (215) so i had my fenders rolled. Try it out and see how it goes.
