ok so this has just happend recently..Its 30gb ipod video. Anyways it would play, but you can't hear music. I tried earphones, headphones and my car stereo. Sometimes it would play fine untill you get this buzzing noise and it cuts out. I also find that pressing and holding down the bottom right corner helps to play music. I tried to reset it, doesnt help. I was thinking to restore, which I heard may help, but I want to know exactly, because I will loose all my songs. And my warranty I think is done and I didnt buy extended, because I didnt think I would need it.
Anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions?

I can't help you with the iPod problem but you're not going to lose all your songs. There are plenty of little apps out there that can be used to copy all the songs on your iPod onto a computer (why haven't you done this already?).

Sounds like the iPod is toast, tho.

have you dropped it at some point? it sounds like some connections are loose inside the ipod.

Theres some small vendors in malls that fix ipods for a price or you could upgrade and get an itouch...... works great with the car too

try to open it and see if there's any loose wiring inside.

Unfortunately it's compressed, you're gonna have to take it somewhere to get it opened.

Just format it, and see if it helps.
Otherwise you're screwed.
You can see if u can do a firmware upgrade (forgot if that erases the songs, been too long since i touched me)

Actually opening is not hard. Just takes alot of time. Ask your self though, Once you have it open, are you going to blindley touch things or look if its broken? Ive fixed quite a few.. Sounds to me that your aux connection is loose. Not common but it happens.. When you hold down a button like you say your re-establishing this connection thats loose..Not toast if you had it open and let me take a look see.

so I did a little research turns out its a common problems for 5th gen IPods. The logic board is going off and needs to be replaced. I opened it, doesnt seem anything damaged. But now I need to buy an Ipod, maybe Ipod classic 80gb?? Also it sucks becasue I just installed Ipod adapter in my car took me a half a day to figure it out the wiring and now my ipod is dying..
