When i turn my wheel any slight bit my steering pump makes a high pitched noise.

Sounds like the pump is dying. You may need to replace it. Try checking to make sure the fluid is topped up first. Don't get any dirt in there.

apperently this is a problem in all mazda 3's 07-08 models.

Really? That's news to me. Did they change the pump in 07? I haven't had any issues with my 06.

i was just reading another forum about a whining noise from the pump, and that better describes it, and according to others who posted on there, its actually normal, many people have this issue.
