Air bag sensor doesnt turn off. Big problem...:(

Im a newbie in this forum, im from the island of Puerto Rico dont know if you guys no about but representing mazda 3's around here.

I have a question ive been using my car lately and all of a sudden the airbag light doesnt go off after 6 seconds that i turn on my car. Its strange and im really preocupied because in the manual i read that this light go's on when you turn on your car on for 6 sec then after that it go's off. Also says that airbags couldn't work if any accident which is a big problem out here. Peolple drive nuts and dont give a damn about cops and traffic law.

Any suggestions or if anybody that had confronted same situation.

Hey Maz3 welcome to the board! :)

Anyways, your problem, you could always try the old disconnect the battery trick and leave it disconnected for 1/2 hour with ignition switch in on position....press brake pedal....If this dosen't remedy the problem you have no choice but the dealer....it could be just one of the sensors.

Ill try that!!! it might be a sensor because i have a sound system
which im going to sell later because, got bored of the bangin trunk...

If not defenetly im heading to the dealer to evade any blowing airbag!

omg I have the samething! I was looking around in my car thinking I may have hit something that enabled it. Guess I'll try that as well thanks for the tip and if not guess it'll be my next visit to MoT.

Noticed lastnight it went away...note I didn't do any special trick to it, it just removed itself. Hopefully it doesn't come on again :)

I've been getting it for the last 2-3 weeks. Shows up every so often, then goes away for a couple days. Gonna ask the dealer next time I bring it in. Not gonna bother with a special trip.

That could be my issue, started after an AutoX school where I was messing around with my seating position all day long.
