Hey guys. So i bought a garmin 650 for my dad and apparently he's really bad with english and he asked me to see if the gps can speak cantonese. So i searched online and found the webupdater from garmin. I found that its got the cantonese option to update. So i proceeded with the update, and it was sucessful but when i choose the cantonese option on the gps, it actually doesn't say anything anymore.

Then i found out that when i go into the language option, the names with the (TTS) beside it works and the names without the (TTS) doesn't work.

Do you guys have any idea why or how i can get my gps to speak cantonese/mandarin instead of english?

thanks

TTS = Text To Speech

Unless you can find a TTS Cantonese file, the GPS will only say Turn Left in 4km etc. It will no longer say the street names.

I wonder if they will use the official Chinese name for those streets like Spadina, Dundas, Broadview, etc. hahahha
