Yup that's right! 73000km and 3years almost to the day and I finally got a CEL today! Weird part is I noticed absolutely nothing different, car was running awesome, been getting exceptional fuel mileage resently also! So anyways, checked several obvious things which didn't clear it, so I took it to Scarboro Mazda and guess what?, it was the purge valve, tech said it was leaking! ....go figure :loco.
Anyways, 1hr later and it was done with a reflash to boot (No charge I will add).......Now my car seems to have a shit-load more pep, just hope it dosen't effect my great fuel numbers:chuckle

My first CEL was happened last month at 69,000 km and 4 years 3 months. It was due to stuck thermostat, which was open all the time. I have extended warranty but the dealer still charged me for the coolant and enviromental fee. After I talked to its service manager and Mazda Canada, it agreed the coolant should be covered by warranty. However, it refused to refund the environmental fee ($3.5) because it was not paid by Mazda Canada. When I talked to Mazda Canada, I also found out this dealer actually also billed Mazda Canada for the coolant. What a crook?

got my purge valve replaced today at only 13000km. good thing its under warranty
So i just got my first CEL, i've been driving the car for almost a year coming up in Sept. I noticed i had a problem 2 days ago but have been waiting for a CEL or for the problem to go away.
It's when i shift into 3rd that the car starts jerking, the same effect of releasing the clutch too fast. When in 3rd it kind of starts to do the same thing like theres water in the gas (i usually try and keep my tank full). I only have 2 engine related mods - fujita CAI and MS CBE. I checked every simple thing i could - gas cap, maf wires, the cai for leaks etc... In the end, what to do? Agincourt is the closest dealership to me, or find a mod-friendly dealership? Put the stock airbox in before anything? iunno, any help would be great! thanks

Check ur MAF wires again carefully, one of the wires on my maf got cut so i extended all my wires and afterward got no CEL probs. If you bring it to the dealership, its better to have the stock cai put back, they'll most likely charge u because its not a stock cai and say the problem comes from ur aftermarket intake.

I'd suggest the same, re-check the MAF.If it persists, take it to Scarboro Mazda they won't hassle you about Mods....and it's not far.

I was worried about the CEL so i made an appointment this morning and went straight in. When i got in my car though the CEL was gone, i made my way there anyway. They told me my CAI was most likely the problem and also spotted that one of the MAF wires was cut a bit. The code was P0102. They suggested that i put the stock one back in and see if the CEL comes on again. I guess i'm gonna have to try and cut and re-insert the broken wire, will doing that void warranty too? Pretty accurate JonsMazda! Thanks for the input guys, will try Scarboro Mazda next time! =]
so 2 wires finally ripped right off my maf sensor right at the base. it was slightly cut before but put some rubber compund around it to help it hold, it didn't last. the last time this threw a cel for me i brought it to agincourt and they weren't very happy because its an aftermarket cai. i've read this problem a few times but didn't find any answers/repairs. the only thing i can think of is saudering or buying the plug for the maf and splicing the whole thing in. it's such a small problem but the car's reaction is vigorous jerking and constant rising and dropping of the rpm in neutral. any suggestions would be great, thanks!
