We're considering trading in our Land Rover Freelander for a BMW 328i.

Went to Town and Country today got a quote it was roughly $600/month, 2% lease and about $3800 that you have to pay upon delivery.

Anyone know where I could go to get a better deal? I tried looking for a Toronto BMW forum but couldn't really find anything.

Thanks.

I like the dealership on Leslie and Eglinton - there is a salesperson there, Jon Toth - used to be a rally racer, now a salesperson and I think occasional test-driver for BMW etc - met him years ago when I was looking at a VW GTI 16V (he used to work at Agincourt Audi) - nice guy, SERIOUS kick ass test drive...

umm

stephen at TC helped us wiht ours a while back (in conjunction wiht our broker)

try www.e90toronto.ca]

on a side note: are u replacing ur freelander with an xi or an i? though rwd + snows + common sense = good winter, u might miss that awd traction (in terms of getting off the line) lol.

The Freelander sucked in the winter. The AWD on that thing is useless all it does is consume gas.

Looking at the i edition. What do you mean by broker?

ahh, was the freelander just a ford escape rebadged?

we just have a sales manager friend at a particular dealership. he has hookups with other dealers, so he gives us great deals. hes helped us buy all 5 of our new cars and even helped me acquire the mx5 i drive now before it was even released (oct 06) and cause of this, we call him our broker (and friend lol)

Oh, that's sick. I went on e90toronto.ca it's pretty dead there.
They have no section about pricing and stuff. It's not like on here where I can just PM the biz lol.

Do a search in the buying section. I put a whole post there with details on the broker I used to buy my MS3. Was a great experience. He took care of all the details, and got a better deal than I could get for myself, even through the contacts I'd made by coming here!

please, do yourself a favor and dont buy the bimmer. and beleive me i have every reason to say that:

i have an 06 x5 and essentially since november last year it had spent about 70% of the time in service. I know that one car shouldn't be considered an indication of genral quality, however during thistime i have driven a very large number of loaner, among which were a few 328's (x and i versions). every single one of them within about a week time have thrown at least a CEL...or some other lights would come on (breaks, ABS etc..). Keep in mind that these are nearly new, waaaay under 10k cars.

being a bimmer fan my entire life these last few months have been one of the biggest dissapointments of my life.

please reconsider or you have all chances to end up like me - paying for a car while driving loaners/rental of half the value at best...

loaners are generally abused to death which is why all the loaners prolly threw something lol.

i recommend u go for the e90, its a very nice vehicle. ill be moving into the bmw crowd wiht my own one day.

on a side note: our accountant has 4.4i e53 and has nothing but good news about it; no problems what so ever, maybe urs is a lemon?

OP: i guess try bimmerforums canadian section? lol

My father in law has a 2006 325 sedan and the car has been 100% flawless after over two years. It's fun to drive, gets really good gas mileage (8.6L/100km) and there are definately deals to be had. Join the APA or CarCostCanada....for like $50 you get the invoice price of the car plus the contact info of a dealership who will sell it to you for a few hundred over invoice.

BMWs suck.

Seriously though... buy whatever car you want. IF you are unlucky you will get a car that needs to be repaired like speedbaby. It is unfortunate that she had that experience. It is similar to my experience with VW.

In regards to deals... the best thing to do is to go in as educated as possible. PM me and I will see if I can get you the cost numbers. But signing up to something like Carcostcanada will give you that plus info on dealer incentives.

Bottom line... buy what you want... test drive... and love the car you are going to purchase.

We're looking to trade in a car too though, it'd probably be a huge hassle to buy in US.
And we're looking to lease.
