i have the same problem turning it on and off, and when i change tracks it is slightly quiter, i have no idea what it is. i had the same setup on my previous car with an aftermarket deck with no problems, but this time i'm using the stock deck.

You should install a kill switch/ toggle switch from your deck to your amp. I use to have this same problem with one of my previouis cars.

By installing this kill switch, you can cut the power to your sub (via your deck to the amp) before you turn your car off. As well, it comes in handy for those times you don't want to have the sub on when you list to the radio, play a CD/ MP3.

The toggle switch can be deiscretely located in the ash tray, inside the middle compartment, under the steering wheel, etc. etc. etc.

Nope! 2 second delay (courtesy of the stereo) and then sweet pounding bass.
