my horn seems to be going

I don't know what happened but I engaged my alarm last week (thursday) and it sounded very weak and didn't make it's normal sound. The problem is still going on and hasn't changed, it appears to be the horn and it sounds like it's going as it does the same thing when I honk.

Has anyone every experienced this before?

I just flat out changed my horn to a mazda 6 horn after hitting it once in traffic... I started to laugh when I honked it. Cheap & easy mod. Make the swap!

All small cars (Mazda3 included) typically have the worst horns.....I hate that. When I had my Mazda3 I shied away from using it cause it was so bad. My TSX has a great horn, as did our old Mazda6.

I have no idea if this is true or not, but my buddy, who is a car guy, says that the MZ3 horn sounds like a Porche horn. Not that it makes it any better, but it's something, right? hahaha

I've only ever heard two horns from a Porsche and neither sounded like the MZ3.

Too funny, I was just thinking this week that I really should replace the horn, because it sounds far too wimpy. :-) I guess it's not a difficult thing to do?

I don't use mine, I hit it and it just sticks and blares. No fun, no fun at all.
