If this signatures go over say a million and if it is all over the media, they may consider something.

Someone needs to make a facebook group or something for the petition to reach a million and that will still be tough

there is a group, but i doubt it will ever affect anything, as well as this petition.
this law is one of the most obvious money grabs, the gov't has been following the trend of 'lowering' the taxes, or changing tax legislations so that it sounds like they are lowering something, but they always find a way to compensate for it.

plus fantino needed to make up for the purchase of the planes and whatever other ridiculous expenses they aren't even publicly declaring.

there's no way that the law that's been bringing in soo much revenue with minimal investments will be dropped just based on the fact that there's a number of ppl against it. if they didnt care about the canadian charter of rights when they voted for it, some million signatures (if it even gets there) isn't gonna make them change it now.

No matter what happens they will not take something away that they are making MILLIONS on each year...

And the PR for going "easier" on speeders/racers would be a nightmare for them.

Why do you really need to go over 150km/hr on a public road anyways???

i really don' think that the issue here is about the 50+ over part. the issue is the fact that the judgment is left up to the discretion of 1 person, without the right to fair trial.

that law is used to impound cars for many other reason besides just going 50 over the speed limit and before getting charged, each person should have the right to representation and a fair trial.

plus i really don't think that these decisions should be made by ppl who's performance is partially measured by the number of charges...
