You can't fit a golf bag in width wise in the hatch unless you take out the driver, which is uber gay. Especially if your going with a bunch of buddies. I didn't even think about trying a golf bag when i was purchasing i just assumed it would fit. I mean its a hatch. The bag and clubs would fit great if there were those dinky hidden pockets at the side in the hatch.
oh well, SOL i guess, and im an ass for assuming:AH

Are you sure you tried putting it in with every way possible?

If you can fit all this, I'm sure there is a way.:chuckle (Take note, I know nothing about golf bags.)

No i hear ya, i had mine packed like that as well during may 24 weekend, but its the driver that is to long that makes the bag un able to fit. thats all im saying, if i had 2 -4more inches of clearence the whole bag with ALL the clubs could fit. the only way to go width ways is to take out the driver, just annoying thats all

I know and it's annoying as hell! A golf bag will fit in a sedan's trunk without removing the driver and without lowering the rear seat back.

Yeah, clubs with driver will not fit (unless you are using junior clubs!). However, I would rather be "uber gay" and take my car and clubs (with my driver OUT of the bag - oh, the horror!!) than renting clubs or even worse, trading my car in for something less fun to drive just so I don't have to take my driver out of the bag before putting it in the car. :chuckle

My clubs are in my hatch right now and the driver is in the bag.

Slight angle, what kind of bag do you have?

a normal stand bag
im just saying it would be easier if it could fit across, a lot easier when there is more than one bag back there!

I hear yah.. I had the same issue when I tried to throw in a set of clubs in the trunk.. I just put the back seat down but that sucked..

I know what you were getting at.
I have had 2 golf bags (all clubs in) in the hatch.
It was like tetris getting them in and out but they fit.

I'm just afraid that I'm gonna be careless one day and snap my driver because it's exposed, perched percariously on top of my bag.
... other crap in the trunk: shoes, push cart (I'm lazy), umbrella, gatorade, etc etc...

I own a Seden and it's definitely NOT easy to fit my golfclubs horizontally, I ended up throwing my set + my buddies on the back seat.

Glad to see im not the only person who was frustrated and pissed with this little problem,
maybe north american golf clubs are bigger than japanese golf clubs.

Just a note to make you hatches hate Sedans: With my small Subwoofer in the trunk, I was able to fit 3 standing bags, a Staff bag, and a simple caddy (bag cart) in my trunk. The key is the angle, you have to cross them across, then put the third bag flat across the back, and the forth bag is a very tight fit, but you can close the lid on it before it falls forward... Kinda hold it there and sneak the trunk closed and pull your hand out at the last second. I did this to Granite ridge, THey have a 20 dollar twilight special after 5pm, with 4 people in the car. Fully loaded!

yeah, pisses me off too.

I fold down the rear driver side seat and place both bags front to back in the opening.

Or I put my bag on the floor of the back seat.

this is why I got the sedan, my clubs didnt fit in the hatch.

Not only that, its really nice to have a trunk and be able to pack for a big car trip, and still be able to see out the back window.

I can fit my golf bag with driver in my hatch, it's on a slight angle aswell. Anymore than one golf bag though and your screwed.

Yup couldn't decide between a hatch and sedan so I brought my clubs to the dealer and they only fit in the sedan's trunk so that's what I bought.
